One week ago today I began work on my Doctor of Ministry program with George Fox Evangelical Seminary. I spent all of last week in Portland meeting and getting to know my fellow cohort members, getting freaked out by the kind of process that I'm beginning, and laughing a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop in me over the next three years.
I'm really honored to be able to share the process with a very talented group of people. Some of the projects that my cohort-mates are working on are amazing, creative, and important. The world will be better for these folks having embarked on this.
My biggest problem at this point is settling firmly on a direction for my own project. It's really important to begin the process with a keen eye toward the end goal, in order to tailor your work along the way so that it contributes to the final result. If I'm not able to do that quickly, I'll be at risk for not completing the degree in the optimal three year time frame.
Whatever happens, I know that for the next two years, I'll be walking with some very cool people.

Steve,
Don't sweat it. You're going to do great. I think a lot of us are wondering about our projects.
BTW...love the header...
